Virtual Field Trip to NCMA: Mummies and Makerspaces (event)

Join the North Carolina Museum of Art for a virtual field trip from the Egyptian galleries where students can learn with an Egyptologist and 3-D print an ancient amulet.

Why do humans make? Travel back through time to the North Carolina Museum of Art’s Ancient Egyptian artifacts where students investigate and gain hands-on experience through visual analysis and 3-D printing technology. Through this 30 minute video conference, students will learn about Egyptian faience and consider how materials and technology affect cultures and artistic expression.

While all grade levels are welcome to register, this has been designed for grades 6-8. By registering in advance, you’ll receive a confirmation message giving you links to classroom resources, the plans for 3-D printing the amulet, and the link to the video conferencing event.

In celebration of Digital Learning Day, we are offering this 30 minute program for the first 100 teachers to register below. Learn more about our other virtual field trips here.
