Educator Expo (October 4, 2022) (event)

See our reimagined galleries for the first time!

Join us in celebration of pure imagination! We invite educators to get a sneak peek of the newly transformed East and West buildings. Educators can enjoy hors d’oeuvres, beverages (including two drink tickets for beer and wine), and desserts while engaging with our extended learning community. This event is free and open to educators of all levels and disciplines as well as teaching artists and others interested in learning through the arts. Expo tickets are available on the hour at 4, 5, and 6 pm to allow educators to select an entry time that fits their schedule. Timed entry grants access to the West Building first with access to the East Building beginning at 5 pm.

The reinstallation offers new opportunities to develop new tours, resources, and programs to engage with the collection in culturally meaningful ways. Educators can participate in new ways to experience ancient civilizations by beta testing new virtual platforms and reimagine how to engage K-12 students in learning about NC artists. This event is developed in collaboration with community partners including but not limited to the NC Department of Public Instruction Arts Education team, the NC Arts Council and A+ Schools of NC, the NC Symphony, and other education partners through the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
