World Languages Pedagogy Workshop: Using Art and Objects to Teach World Languages (event)

Guillermo Kuitca's People on Fire

How does learning through objects connect us with the products, perspectives, and practices of cultures across the world that are taught about in North Carolina world language classrooms? This daylong workshop for world language teachers features facilitated gallery discussions as applicable to world languages pedagogy, small group discussions, and time to explore lesson ideas. The NCMA, NC Department of Public Instruction, and UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke Area Studies Centers are partnering for this program.

Participants will earn 0.5 CEUs for participation in the in-person workshop on March 9. This program is designed for K-16 World Language educators. Lunch will be provided to all participants. For any questions, please contact Kevin Fogg (kfogg@email.unc.edu) or Alaa Hammouda (alaah@email.unc.edu) of UNC or Jill Taylor (jill.taylor@dncr.nc.gov) of the NCMA.
