What’s Missing in Good as Gold (Multimedia)
Good as Gold: Installing Art in a Pandemic
Good as Gold: Fashioning Senegalese Women is co-organized by the NC Museum of Art and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art. Did you know that most art museums send couriers with their loaned objects? Because of the fragility of the pieces and the complexity of their mounts, a courier from the Smithsonian was scheduled to install several of these works in person. But COVID-19 travel restrictions prevented the courier from traveling, so some objects could not be installed. In this album, you will find images of the pieces that could not be installed due to COVID-19.
