From the Artist: Maya Freelon Asante (Video)

Meet Maya Freelon Asante and hear her philosophy on art! She leads Threads of Africa festival attendees in creating tissue paper quilts. The resulting pieces are huge, stunning works of community art, and will be on display in the African gallery through October 8. Weather permitting, we’ll bring pieces of it outside each Saturday to let the breeze highlight the motion of each piece. Thanks again to all who attended the festival and made it a success!
