This sculpture is made from clay that was baked to make it hard. It was made by the Colima people of Mexico.
- What parts of it look like a parrot or bird? Find the beak, claws, tail, wings, and large eyes.
- What sounds does a parrot or a bird make? Pretend you are a bird, and move your arms like the wings of a bird. Practice making bird sounds at the same time.
- Make your own animal sculpture using clay or salt dough. Include different parts of its body (head, feet, mouth, nose, skin, fur, or feathers). Give your animal a name, and put it on display for everyone to see.
