New! Explore Ancient Cultures

What can we learn about ancient cultures by observing objects made by ancient people?  In this VFT, students gain insight into an ancient culture by exploring objects from the NCMA’s permanent collection as primary sources.  Students will be led through a virtual archaeological site to search for museum objects and observe them using Sketchfab 3-D imagery.  These programs come with an optional Post-VFT Art Kit. Order yours at registration.

Pre-Visit Activity for Explore Ancient Egypt

The “Pack Your Bags for Egypt!” activity is designed to help students build background knowledge on Egypt before they engage with museum objects in their VFT. This activity should be assigned to students to complete independently on a device in class or for homework and should take about 15-20 minutes.
