Activity Overview:

- In this Compare and Connect activity, students will compare 2 artworks that feature symbols of power for their respective cultures.
- In Day One: Discuss, students will discuss two artworks that feature symbols of power. Students will discuss what qualities determine and define power and how those qualities change from culture to culture.
- In Day Two: Write, students will write a short narrative from the point of view of one of the cultures and consider how power may affect an individual’s perspective.
